Product Brief

What this API gives you

Public transport category: Transjakarta bus routes with the halte they serve, nearest-halte search from a coordinate, fares, and per-route departure headways. The data is the official static GTFS published by PT Transportasi Jakarta, licensed CC BY 4.0, so it may be reused commercially as long as the attribution is kept.

Data source: GTFS Static Transjakarta (c) 2026 by PT Transportasi Jakarta, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). The licence statement is at https://ppid.transjakarta.co.id/informasi/berkala and the file is downloaded from https://gtfs.transjakarta.co.id/files/file_gtfs.zip. Because that licence requires attribution, a licence link, and an indication of changes, every successful response carries meta.attribution with the publisher, the licence name, a licence link, a link to the source file, the licence-statement page, and the statement of changes "Data diubah: dinormalisasi ke format JSON API Indonesia" — so you do not have to assemble the credit yourself, just pass that object through in every redistribution. What API Indonesia changed: the GTFS was normalised to JSON, the stop_times rows were condensed into one stop list per route and direction, and shapes.txt (geometry) is not included in this version.

Access
API key

Can be tried with the 3,000 credit signup bonus, then used in production through one API Indonesia key.

Sample resource
https://use.apiindonesia.id/api/v1/transjakarta/rute

Returns the 240 Transjakarta routes with their short and long names, service description (BRT, integrated public transport, Mikrotrans, Transjabodetabek, tour bus), GTFS route type, corporate colour with its text colour, and the number of unique halte the route serves (counted across both directions, not the number of rows).

Example product scenarios

This section separates the product page from the docs. The docs explain how to call endpoints; this page explains why the endpoints make sense for your feature.

  • Mobility & map apps: display Transjakarta routes and halte, find the nearest halte to a user, and build arrival estimates from the official headways.
  • Transport research & urban planning: analyse halte coverage per route, headway patterns, and the fare structure without importing the large GTFS files yourself.
  • Logistics & field apps: compute the nearest halte or route from a customer point, and use the halte list for location search and address validation.

Quick answers to common questions about getting started, the signup bonus, API key security, data sources, and Sumopod billing.

API Indonesia is a REST API service for Indonesian public data: administrative regions down to village and postal code level, public holidays, prayer times, schools, universities, hospitals, and realtime earthquake data from BMKG — all through a single API key.
Fully self-service: sign up, create an API key in the dashboard, and start calling endpoints with the x-api-key header. No manual verification, no sales calls — you can make your first request within minutes.
Yes. API keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes so they are never persisted in their original form, and all traffic runs exclusively over HTTPS. If a key is ever exposed, you can rotate or revoke it at any time straight from the dashboard.
Every new account gets a one-time 3,000 credit bonus (Rp3,000), granted once the email is verified. With Google or GitHub signup it lands right away, because the provider already verified the email. There is no monthly free allowance on any plan tier, and the bonus never expires. Once the balance runs out, you can upgrade to Pro or Business or top up pay as you go credits from the dashboard.
One credit equals Rp1, and the price is per product per hit: a successful public data request costs 2 credits (Rp2). Only successful hits consume a balance: failed requests, validation errors, and timeouts are never charged, so you only pay for data you actually receive.
Upgrade straight from the dashboard with payment through Sumopod. Pro at IDR 49,000 gives 50,000 credits (Rp50,000, equal to 25,000 public data requests) and 20 requests per second; Business at IDR 149,000 gives 250,000 credits (Rp250,000, equal to 125,000 requests) and 60 requests per second. One credit equals Rp1 and a successful public data request costs 2 credits. If you do not want a subscription, you can also buy pay as you go credits. Yearly billing saves 2 months.
All data comes from official sources: Permendagri for regions, SK Menpan for public holidays, Kemenag for prayer times, Dapodik Kemdikbud and Dikti for education, SIRS Kemenkes for hospitals, and BMKG for earthquakes (required attribution: "Data sourced from BMKG"). Data is refreshed as the official sources publish updates; earthquake data is available in realtime.
Yes. API Indonesia runs on Cloudflare's edge network with 99.9% uptime and sub-100ms response latency. This distributed infrastructure keeps the API fast and reliable for production workloads — from fintech KYC to high-traffic e-commerce checkouts.
